India Thyroid Function Test Market to Witness Increasing Revenue Growth During the Forecast Period 2019–2027
Thyroid Function Test is used to measure the TSH level in a blood sample. According to the study, ‘Trends in thyroid cancer incidence in India’, published in May 2018 in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the incidence rate of thyroid cancer in India in women increased from 2.4 to 3.9 and in men from 0.9 to 1.3, a relative increase of 62% and 48% respectively during 2004/05 to 2013/14. Thus, high prevalence of thyroid is expected to propel growth of India thyroid function test market.
Thyroid function tests can also be used to monitor thyroid hormones. The TSH test works by checking the level of thyroid-stimulating hormone in your blood. In this test, a low level of thyroid-stimulating hormone is detected as a negative in your blood. If this is the case, then your thyroid gland may be under active because the thyroid-stimulating hormone has not been produced. Low thyroid-stimulating hormone level indicates hypothyroidism. High level of thyroid-stimulating hormone indicates an overactive thyroid gland.
