Growing demand for durable adhesives from end-user industries is driving the growth of the acrylic adhesives market. They are cost-effective and are mostly used for bonding materials in upholstery, carpentry, and decorative items. They are also used across the pharmaceuticals and food packaging industry. Increasing use of adhesives in place of fasteners for assembling and in construction applications is again propelling the growth of the acrylic adhesives market. The continuous launch of new products is also supporting the growth of the market. For instance, in September 2020, Dow has expanded its focus on the label industry by launching its INVISU™ Acrylic Adhesive portfolio in North America, the latest advancement for pressure-sensitive paper and film label applications. The new technologies streamline label stock manufacturers’, converters’, and brand owners’ abilities to address new and changing industry demands.

  1. In March 2021, BASF started up its new acrylic dispersions production line in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, doubling its capacity. The state-of-the-art facility will produce acrylic dispersions serving the coatings, construction, adhesives, and packaging industries in the Asia Pacific

  2. In April 2020, UPM Raflatac has expanded its range of adhesives for low-temperature food labeling (as low as -15°C) with the launch of its RP48 acrylic adhesive for the Southeast Asia market. The adhesive is targeted for labeling food packages stored in cold and frozen conditions as low as -40°C.

The Asia Pacific is expected to lead the global acrylic adhesives market and this is attributed to the rapid industrialization in the region. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, The manufacturing sector of India has the potential to reach US$ 1 trillion by 2025. The implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will make India a common market with a GDP of US$ 2.5 trillion along with a population of 1.32 billion people, which will be a big draw for investors.
