Chlorofluorocarbon Market Is Expanding Rapidly With Haier Introducing 17 New Refrigerator Variants In India In 346l And 376l Capacities
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are organic compounds consisting of two carbon atoms and six hydrogen atoms in a rigid polar molecular structure. Chlorofluorocarbons resemble the sugar molecule known as glucose. It was first isolated from natural sources, however, the compound has been used extensively in industrial, commercial, and agricultural applications. Chlorofluorocarbon or CFC is typically used in refrigerators as well as air condition products. Over the years, the demand for both refrigerators and air condition products has increased rapidly with the advent of novel products. Recently, in January 2021, Samsung Electronics launched a new range of air conditioners including Wind-Free ACs with smart controls. Hence, such factors can augment growth of the chlorofluorocarbon market.
Another key factor governing the development of the market is lax regulations and legislation against the application of CFC. Many countries have reduced the stringent regulations on the use of CFCs, which in turn has resulted in the increased demand for chlorofluorocarbon across the globe. Thus, such factors can potentially stimulate growth of the chlorofluorocarbon market in the near future. Recently, in March 2021, Haier launched 17 new refrigerator variants in India in 346L and 376L capacities.
Chlorofluorocarbons are made from chlorinated organic compounds. Some researchers believe that the popularity of chlorofluorocarbon was based on marketing hype. Since the compound is odorless, some health organizations banned the use of chlorofluorocarbons as disinfectants. However, since the compounds are widely used as refrigerants in many different industries, health organizations continue to monitor the safety of the compound. For this reason, the FDA does not regulate the concentration of chlorofluorocarbons in commercial and residential products. As far as regional impact is concerned, North America seems to be gaining major traction in the chlorofluorocarbon market. This is due to the fact that stringent regulations and guidelines are implemented by environmental agencies in North America followed by Europe. Besides, Asia Pacific is another key region exhibiting a positive outlook in the market with increasing adoption of green refrigerants in India and China.
Chlorofluorocarbons are used in a wide variety of industrial, commercial, and residential products. They are commonly used as air conditioners in refrigerators and as dehumidifiers in industrial cooling and humidification systems. In the food and beverage industry, chlorofluorocarbons are added to many non-acidic and sour taste-enhancing products. Regardless, there are certain aspects of the market that could potentially limit future development. For instance, the harmful environmental effect on the ozone layer remains one of the biggest challenges. Excessive use of CFC could lead to the greenhouse effect thereby impeding growth of the chlorofluorocarbon market in the near future.
